Several of us awoke at 4:15 this morning to a man singing over a loud speaker without accompaniment. It continued for about 5 hours. When Sonika arrived we asked her about this and she said it was the Sikh temple and the man was praying. Wow, he prayed for hours…yet he was not heard.
“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.” Matthew 6:7
As I sat listening I began reading and came to Psalm 46:10 & 11:
“‘Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!’ The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
He will be exalted and He is with us.
Jaskamal and Sonika have given our children Indian names, for some reason they think Adah, Azariah, Avdon, Ianna, and Adoniram are too hard to say;). They have named them Gita, Arjune, Aubi, Sita, and Audi.
We went to McDonalds and Wal-Mart last night two places that we almost never go to, but when you are American and in another country that is where you go I guess:) We never eat McDonalds, ever, but when we lived in Turkey we ate there more than any other restaurant!
We are heading to the capital of Punjab today, Chandigarh. We are not sure what we are doing there, but we go where we are taken, haha.
